Thanksgiving food bagged

170 wild turkeys were bagged in Marion County this year, the most since 218 in 2013.

Turkey kills were down slightly, at 9,038, from 2014.

Preston County had the most, 333. Mason County bagged 313, Jackson County 264, Wyoming County 257 and Harrison and Wood counties 247 for each.

The 2015 spring gobbler season was the first season that hunters could use a telephone, Internet or license agent to electronically check-in a turkey. 

Youth hunters checked in 383 gobblers during the youth season, April 25. Mason County led with 21.
