Neighborhood Park Avenue garage sale Wednesday

Amy Korcsmaros Herron, a Fairmont East grad who lives on Park Avenue in Monongah, will conduct a yard sale that is open to other Monongah residents to join in. The yard sale will be 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.

Sharon Kerns, who lives on Camden Avenue, will participate. Others may join in, too.

Explains Amy: It helps “clear out the clutter.”

I know what you mean, Amy. We had to remove items from our garage when my new Honda Accord required more room so that the driver’s door could open (two-car garage, technically, the builder said, but it’s more like 1 7/8ths when both walls are lined with stuff you think you need to save).

In our case, we removed enough stuff so that the Accord garage door could open and not hit the wall, by leaving enough of a gap in the things we packed alongside the left side of the garage so that the car door could open unimpeded. Worked like a charm.

Herrons in Monongah High history (people, not the birds) include:

Henrietta Koldres Herron, Class of 1968.

Lucille Herron Anderson, Class of 1950 (my class), a Fairmont State graduate who lives in Annapolis, Maryland and has done a lot of traveling throughout Europe with her husband, Sam, particularly when Sam was working for IBM.

After their children Emily Jo, Samuel II and Jennifer Lynn began going to school, Lucille taught for 26 years in the Annapolis area, retiring in 1992.

If you want to re-connect with Lucille, her email address is LuAndSon@aol.com  and her U.S. mail address is
Lucille Anderson
781 Eastern Point Rd.
Annapolis, MD. 21401

Phone number: (410) 224-4137.

If you're looking for the Park Avenue garage sale, just drive up Jackson Street to Park Avenue till you see "clutter."
