Do or die situation for Monongah High Alumni
Reunion
The longest-running high school reunion in
West Virginia history is in danger of dying unless there’s a surge of
Reservations for the Saturday, May 28 99th Monongah High Alumni
Banquet.
Monongah High Alumni
Association treasurer Donna Davis, who has been handling the Banquet
reservations and checks for decades, warn that “if we don’t get 80 or 90
reservations my mid-May there might not be a dinner. Right
now counting the officers and board members we have 17 reservations.”
That
includes mine, which I sent in weeks ago.
So,
do you want the longest-running high school reunion in West Virginia history to
go away? Or are you willing to spend $30 per person and show up for the 6:30
p.m. Banquet in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1529 Mary Lou Retton Drive in
Fairmont?
It
you don’t pay up and show up then you will be an accomplice to the death of
this marvelous event started 100 years ago by Greta Martin Mike in 1922.
Click
on, enlarge and print the Reservations form on this blog and mail it is NOW! Or
regret it if the Banquet is canceled for lack of interest!
John
Olesky, Class of 1950, who at the age of 89 shows up year after year to show my
gratitude to Monongah High to launching me into a successful career and life.
And I enjoy every moment of it!
Who’s with me? And Monongah High.
You would think the Class of 1972 and Class of 1962 would show up, at least, since they are the honor classes.
