Ken Brumage passes away
Ken Brumage, father of Anthony Wayne
Brumage of Monongah (married to Jessica Yankie Brumage, related to Shellie
Yankee of Monongah Councilwoman Susan Sanders’ Christmas Lights Committee),
passed away Monday, May 3.
Ken owned and operated K&M Auto
in Meadowdale for more than 30 years. His widow is Connie Kester Brumage of
Fairmont. They have 5 children, including Tony, husband of 2002 North Marion
grad Jessica. Tony once lived on Walnut Street, where I was born in my Olesky
grandparents’ house at the Pike Street intersection.
My favorite Brummage, with two M’s,
is Geneva Brummage, one of many superb teachers during my Monongah High days. I
was in Miss Brummage’s typing class, which was my springboard, along with
Sister Agnes’ grammar lessons and Mary Turkovich’s math guidance, to a very
fortunate career, life and financial situation. They were my Triumphant
Triumvirant of Transformation. Not an easy job, I can tell you, either, for the
trio to do that.
