John Eller, Ceclia Shamrock Eller’s son,
passes away
John Eller, son of the late Cecelia
Shamrock Eller, Class of 1955, and Robert Eller of Francis Mines, who lived in
Monongah, has passed away.
He was a brother of Barbara Eller
Hanning, Class of 1974.
“Too Tall John” had cancer. A
neighbor found him in his Fairmont home a couple of days after he passed away.
There will be no service. John will
be cremated.
John’s daughter, Jessica Eller, died
from injuries caused by a 2011 auto accident.
Other Shamrock brothers were John,
Paul (Class of 1962), Joe and Jim.
Cecelia attended both Sts. Peter and
Paul Catholic elementary school and Monongah High with my sister, Jackie Olesky
Straight, Class of 1955, who lives in Rivesville.
Jennifer Aldridge Payton, 1999 Fairmont West graduate, is Barbara’s
daughter. Jennifer provided me with much of the information about John Eller
and other family members.
Cecilia’s only sister was Mary Christina Shamrock Hennig, Class of 1967. Her brothers were John Shamrock, Paul Shamrock, Class of 1962, Joe and Jim.
Julius Michael Shamrock was Class of 1966.
A previous generation’s John
Shamrock, Jr. was Class of 1947. He probably was the father of all the Shamrock
brothers and Cecelia.
