Basagic & Poluck married on same day and year

Talk about walking down the aisle on the same day!

Pete Basagic, Class of 1972, son of Richard Basagic, Class of 1948, and wife Cathy Martin Basagic are celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary.

Pete and Cathy were married August 10, 1974. So were long-time friends Debbie Prunty Poluck and Louis Poluck, both Class of 1973, who live in Idamay.

Pete and Debbie worked at Davis Electric. Cathy, a Fairmont State catering programs coordinator, is from Rachel. They live in Monongah.

Pete’s sister, Goldie Basagic Huffman, Class of 1974, and husband John Huffman, have been married 45 years.

Another sister, Sandra Basagic, after Parkersburg High, Fairmont State and West Virginia University, works for the Marion County Board of Education, is married and lives in Fairmont.

Cathy, Fairmont State catering programs coordinator, is a sister of 1973 Farmington High graduate Cora Martin Fazio, who is married to David Fazio, Class of 1968, and runs Fazio Eldercare on Stoney Lonesome in Monongah.

Louis spent 37 years underground in coal mines in 2014, then began working above ground.

Debbie went from Hutchinson Grade School and Everson Youth Group Choir to Monongah High.

Eric and Todd Poluck are their sons. Todd married Kirsten in 2015.

Debbie’s brother is John Prunty II, 1980 North Marion High grad, married to Geneva. He works at Quality Hydraulics and lives in Monongah.

Their father, John Prunty, Jr., is Monongah Class of 1949.
