Doris Fox Crislip, Class of 1946,
passed away. She was the widow of Robert Carroll Crislip, Class of 1941.
Doris was in the Glee Club, Girl
Reserves and Junior Red Cross at Monongah High.
Carroll was student council
president, senior class treasurer, on the yearbook staff, prom king to queen
Ruth Bennett and in the senior class play, “Henry’s Mail-Order Wife,” at Monongah High.
Carroll’s brother, Clyde Eugene
Crislip, also a Monongah High graduate, who was a buyer at Hartley’s Department
Store in Fairmont and was married to Irene Scott Crislip, passed away in 1974
at the age of 59.
Their siblings are Irene Crislip
Curry, who married Harold Curry; Chester, George and Earl Crislip; and Margaret
Crislip.
Their parents were Hiram and Lizzie
Nichols Crislip.
Doris and Carroll’s daughter is Dr.
Carolyn Crislip-Tacy, dean of Fairmont State’s School of Education, Health and
Human Performance and a Fairmont West grad,
Doris’ siblings are Loretta June Fox
McCombs, Lois Rader Fox Simmons, Mary Jane Fox Hickman, Class of 1960, all of the
Fairmont area, and the late Shirley Fox Wilson and Bob Fox.
Loretta was the widow of Harless
McCombs. Loretta and Harless’ children are Monongah Water expert Bill McCombs,
Class of 1969, married to Monongah Town Record Patty Steele McCombs and living
in Monongah; Kevin McCombs, married to Vicky; and Monongah fire chief Harless
“Mutt” McCombs, married to Monongah Middle School language arts
teacher and children’s books author
Lisa Myers McCombs, Class of 1977.
The children of the late Bob Fox,
Class of 1948, and Lillie Pearl Bright Fox, Class of 1949, are Robert Fox Jr.,
John Fox and Tina Fox Daugherty of Vienna, near Parkersburg, and Rita Fox
Tracewell of Arnold, Maryland and Ralph Fox of Parkersburg.
Lois was the widow of Lewis “Fuzzy”
Simmons. Their
children are Lana Rae Simmons of Morgantown and Larry Robert Simmons of
Kingmont.
