Butch Sabala obituary


Charles "Butch" Sabala, 62, of Monongah, passed away on July 2, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born Oct. 7, 1954, at Fairmont, a son of the late Jesse and Juanita Allen Sabala.


Also deceased is his sister, Sandra Amos Crowe.


Surviving family include his children, Nicky Hines and husband Eric, Josh Sabala and fiancé Crystal Nixon, and Corey Sabala and fiancé Paul Skinner; his brother, Jesse Juan Sabala; his sister, Tina Green and husband Tom; half-sisters, Claudia Masters and husband George, Marsha Higginbotham, Diana George, Penny Gabert and husband Dale; grandchildren, Mallory Isis Skinner, Ryan Charles Skinner, Roman Dash Skinner, Urijah Jackson Sabala and another grandchild on the way; niece, Brandi Sabala Vidal; several other nieces and nephews.


Butch was employed at the Federal No. 2 Patriot Mine for 40-plus years. He was a Corvette and Harley Davidson enthusiast.


His children and especially his grandchildren were his everything. Butch enjoyed washing his cars and bike during his leisurely time.

Friends and family will be received from 2-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike St., Shinnston. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Reverend Cindy Boggs officiating.
