Monica Shelosky Cochran, a graduate of Saints Peter and Paul School who went to Monongah High before her 1982 graduation from North Marion, and husband Duane Cochran, also a 1982 North Marion grad, celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 27. They live in Monongah and were a couple for eight years before they married.
Haley Cochran and Quint Cockran, who live in Monongah, are their children. Quint played wide receiver in football for Fairmont State after an outstanding career at North Marion.

Duane's parents are Dolores and Gerald Cochran.
 
Monica and Greg Shelosky are the children of Tom Shelosky, son of Julia Lazorick Shelosky and the late Stanley “Strob” Shelosky. George Shelosky was Monica’s uncle.


Tom’s sister, Rebecca “Becky” Shelosky Carvillano, Class of 1961, lives in Fairmont.

Monica’s SP&P classmates included Melanie Ann Pagliaro
, daughter of Rosemary Raymond Pagliaro, sister of the late Bob Raymond and daughter of Angelo Raymond and Mary Dudiak Raymond.

Melanie Ann was one of the bridesmaids at the wedding. The others were Debbie McCardle Stiles, Lenora Boord Montgomery and Fairmont West grad Shelly Carvillano Watson, Becky’s daughter who lives in Ridgeley, West Virginia and works for the Allegany County Board of Education.

Lenora’s brother, the late Michael Wade Boord, attended Monongah High before graduating from North Marion in 1983. Their siblings are North Marion grads Anita Boord, Class of 1982; and Betty Boord Haggerty, Class of 1988.

Monica is a Fairmont State graduate who also worked there. Duane provides articles about Fairmont State sports for the Fairmont Times,  Bluefield Telegraph and other newspapers.
