Jake Pudder’s mom passes away

Betty Jean Andrews Pudder, mother of Hubert “Jake” Pudder, Class of 1977, passed away Thursday, May 18 in Worthington.

Betty’s daughter, North Marion grad Lela Jean Pudder MacIntire, lives in Bingamon with husband Steve MacIntire. Another of Betty’s children, Tom Pudder, lives in Worthington.

Betty’s obituary:

Betty Jean Andrews Pudder, 82, of Worthington passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2017, in her residence. Betty was born on December 25, 1934 in Rockdale, TX, a daughter of the late Willie J. Andrews and Lydia Jewel Demore Andrews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Hubert Burns Pudder Sr.

Mrs. Pudder is survived by three sons, James Pudder and his wife Marsha of Pendleton, OR, Hubert “Jake” Pudder and his wife Jennifer of Farmington and Thomas W. Pudder of Worthington; three daughters, Mary Ann Wilmoth of Radcliff, KY, Susan Riley and her husband Roger of Guston, KY and Lela Jean MacIntire and her husband Steve of Worthington; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Kevin Nicholas, Richard Reynolds and Woody Huey, and 12 brothers and sisters.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Betty’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 122 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501.

In accordance with Betty’s wishes, her body will be cremated. A committal service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. The family has entrusted Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, with arrangements.
