Jack Ignatious Bonasso Sr., 88, of Carolina, passed
away Saturday May 10. He was the father of Annette Bonasso
Ellyson, North Marion Class of 1980, and Robert Bonasso, Sr., Class of 1971 and
brother of Pete Bonasso, Class of 1943, of Fairmont, who once lived in
Westminster, California.

Bonasso Sr. 88, of Carolina, WV passed away Saturday May 10th 2014 at the Louis
A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born August 14, 1925 in
Wyatt, WV, son of the late Frank and Josephine (Audia) Bonasso.
Jack was the former owner & Operator of the Bonasso Super Market in Carolina for 55 years. He is a veteran of WWII, served in the United Sates Navy, and was involved in The Naval Battle of Leste Gulf.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Ann “Dee” Bonasso; seven children, Jack Bonasso Jr. of Florida, Linda Jones and husband Charles of Morgantown, WV, Jo Ann Rengers of Morgantown, WV, Robert Bonasso and wife Diane of Carolina, WV, Dan Bonasso and wife Jan of Carolina, WV, Anette Ellyson and husband Jeff of Carolina, WV, and Maria Bluestone and husband Jim of Pittsburgh, PA; two brothers, Peter Bonasso and wife Jane of Fairmont, WV, and Bill Bonasso and wife Mary of Farmington Hills, MI; thirteen grand children, Jennifer Pulic and husband David, Amy Tingler and husband Scott, Francis Rengers and wife Rachel, Josiah Rengers and wife Katie, Emily Rengers and husband Israle DeSouza, Robert Bonasso Jr., Cora Bonasso, Laura Bonasso, Danielle Sparks and husband Ron, Rachel Ellyson, Leah Ellyson, Dane Bluestone, and Elyse Bluestone; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell F. Bonasso, and Samuel P. Bonasso; and a sister, Lucille DeAnunzio.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont, Tuesday May 13, from 1 until 8 pm., and Wednesday May 14, from 10 until 11 am. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home with his grandson Rev. Josiah Rengers officiating and Pastor. Wesley Dobbs assisting. Entombment will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery Mausoleum. Full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com .
