Mary Orsini recovering from broken
hip
Mary
Louise Baker Orsini, who began at Monongah High with the Class of 1948, was
hospitalized for three weeks with a broken hip.
She’s
using a walker during her recovery at home on Swisher Hill, where she lives
with husband of 65 years, Tony Orsini.
Tony was one of the six athletic Monongah High Orsini brothers: Tom “Bum”, Larry, Jimmy, Junior (Cocoa) and Bill. Only 2 are still living, Tony and Jimmy. Jimmy lives in Virginia Beach, Va.
The
Orsini family had a grocery store in Worthington run by mom, Sylvia
Orsini.
Tom,
Class of 1950, died in 2005. Peggy Rauer Orsini, Class of 1959, Tom’s widow,
lives in Titusville, Florida, where Tom was a teacher in that area for 30
years.
Nick
Orsini, Jr., Class of 1949, had moved to Warren, Ohio.
Larry
was Class of 1945 but I didn’t find a graduation year for Bill.
Mary
Louise and Tony’s daughter, Terri, lives in Durham, North Carolina and is the
widow of Dr. Jerry D. Saye, who went from Fairmont State to be librarian with School of Information and Library Science at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1985 till his 2012 passing.

“Thanks
for the nice article on my broken hip. It was so stupid of me to be
hurrying in the
kitchen
when I missed the step in the kitchen. Don't try it, because it isn't any
fun, and it
would
mess up your busy life.
“The
doctor told me the other day that he never seen anyone recover like I had, so
now it
will just
take time.
“Thanks
again!!!!
“Mary
Louise”
