Chiefton native Sam
Oliverio, 93, of Fairmont passed away Friday, June 19, at Ruby Memorial
Hospital in Morgantown. His parents were the late Bill and Catherine Oliverio.

Oliverio, Sr.’s son along with Joseph Oliverio and Frank Oliverio. Their sister is Mary Oliverio Brown.

Morgantown is named for Mike Oliverio, Sr.
John Oliverio, Class of 1974, who,
with Mark
Sandy, North Marion Class of 1990, prevented shoplifting in Frostburg, Maryland
while on the way home from a Combat Vets Motorcyle meeting. They stopped and
held down the culprit till police arrived.

Samuel Oliverio
(February 12, 1922 - June 19, 2015)
Sam
Oliverio, 93, of Fairmont passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Ruby Memorial
Hospital. He was born in Chiefton, WV on February 12, 1922, son of the late
Bill and Catherine Oliverio.
Sam
retired from Jones Fur Service in Fairmont. Prior to his career as a furrier,
Sam served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 99th
Infantry Division. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and was
active with the Knights of Columbus #942. Sam also delivered Meals on Wheels
for many years.
Sam
is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madeline Oliverio; his daughters and
sons-in-law, Sharon Minor of Arvada, Colorado, Mary C. and Steve Hoylman of
Fairmont and Pompano Beach, FL, and Benita and Don DePriest of Fairmont; four
grandsons, Aaron (Gaby) Minor, Brian (Kelsey) Minor, Christopher (Lauren)
DePriest and Nathan (Stephanie fiancé) DePriest. Also surviving are several
nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Family
and friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue, Fairmont, WV
from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday. A vigil service will be held Monday
Evening at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Louis Belldina, and a Knights of Columbus service
will be held at 7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with
the Father S.A. Dass as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Masonic
Cemetery in Shinnston, WV.

Shoplifting is a serious crime that is committed by people from all walks of life. Being charged and having to face a judge at court are embarrassing and stressful enough, but even worse is the possibility of receiving a permanent conviction.
