Grandmother of Monongah’s Brandy Fluharty passes away

Betty Frances “Nonnie” Fluharty George, grandmother of Brandy Ann Fluharty of Monongah, passed away Wednesday, January 8.

Betty’s obituary:

Betty Frances “Nonnie” Fluharty George, age 87, of Farmington, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Pierpont Center in Fairmont. She was born March 27, 1932, in Weston, WV a daughter of the late Charles Lattea and Bessie Belle Snyder Lattea.

Betty is survived by her son, William “Mac” Fluharty of Mannington; 5 grandchildren, Lisa and Rodney Hatfield of Mannington, Paul and Sonni Fluharty of Mannington, Brandy Ann Fluharty of Monongah, Jesalyn and Mark Kamaka of California, and Frederick Jay Fluharty of Montana Mines; 7 great-grandchildren, Garret Hatfield and Heidi Hatfield, Hayli Fluharty, Gage Fluharty and Olivia Fluharty, and Peyton and Eli Fluharty.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Jay Fluharty, her second husband Robert George, and several brothers and sisters.

Betty was a member of the Bee Gum United Methodist Church and later in life attended the Mannington Church of the Nazarene. She, along with her first husband, was a former owner of the Fluharty Dental Lab Office for over 20 years, then a certified home health aide, and a homemaker. She loved cooking and loved her family. She enjoyed music and loved playing piano.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Saturday, January 11, 2019 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Graveside services will be held immediately following visiting hours at the Bee Gum Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Bush officiating.
