Today – June 22 -- is the 45th wedding anniversary of Ron Manzo, Class of 1969, and 1971 Fairview High grad Janice Manzo. Sunday – June 23 -- is Ron’s birthday. They live in Morgantown.

In 2016 they vacationed in the Alps as a pre-42nd wedding anniversary honeymoon and birthday celebration for Ron.

Ron and Janice have five children – Evan, Andrew, Aaron, Ashley and Jared.

Ron retired in 2015 from Consol Energy at the Bailey mine. 

 

Janice is a gym instructor and bodybuilding motivator at Lakeview Fitness Center. She is a 1973 Fairmont State graduate. She lived in Grant Town before her Ron days.


Ron’s sister is Debra Manzo Vandetta, Class of 1973, married to Monongah Mayor Greg Vandetta. Their parents were Helen Cecelia Manzo and Phil Manzo.


Ron’s uncles were Ernie “Frog”, Joe, John “Duke” Manzo, Class of 1945; and Raymond “Pigeon” Manzo, Class of 1947.

 

Monongah High history is littered with Manzos.

 
Phyllis Manzo Berardo is Class of 1935.

Genevieve Manzo Lopez is Class of 1937.

Mike Manzo is Class of 1941.

Patsy Manzo is Class of 1942. Pat Manzo is Class of 1973.

Helen Manzo Raspa is Class of 1945.

John “Duke” Manzo is Class of 1945. Another John Manzo is Class of 1979.

Jim Manzo is Class of 1946.

Raymond “Pigeon” Manzo is Class of 1947.

Mary Manzo Tiburzi, who married Joe Tiburzi, is Class of 1949.

Joe Manzo, Class of 1950.

Ernie “Frog” Manzo, Class of 1953.

Danny Manzo is Class of 1957. Fairmont East grad Brenda and Danny have lived together in Monongah since 1967. Danny was on the 1955 Monongah High state champ football team and was co-captain with Joe Meffe of the 1956 Monongah High state football title game runnerup team.

Nancy Manzo Bolyard is Class of 1970.

Karen Manzo Tennant is Class of 1974.

Lisa Myers Manzo is Class of 1977. So is Tina Manzo Prodonovich.

Lisa Jacobin Manzo is North Marion Class of 1986.
There was a Manzo at Monongah High from 1935 through 1949 and 1969 through 1978 (the year before the final 1979 MHS graduation class that preceded the consolidation into North Marion High).
