Bertha, Sue, Doris and Kitty waiting out the rain

Kitty, Sue, Doris and Bertha are four Lions who take to water and travel.

That would be Mary “Kitty” Ahouse Morrison, Class of 1968, who lives on Lyndon Avenue in Monongah; Susan Ahouse Schrader, Class of 1971, who lives in Piscataway, New Jersey and Stoney Lonesome;  Doris Carpenter Rogers, a 1971 graduate who lives in Charleston, West Virginia with husband Scott Rogers; and Bertha Kennedy Wilson, Class of 1972, who lives in Monongah.

Doris and Sue have been friends since second grade.

Kitty and Sue’s brother is Mike Ahouse, a North Marion graduate and mailman out of the Worthington Post Office.

Doris’ parents were Bill Carpenter and Iris Delores Martin Carpenter, Class of 1950. Doris’ siblings are Will Carpenter, Class of 1975, who lives in Fairmont, and Amy Carpenter.

Bertha and Dave Wilson’s daughter is North Marion graduate Amanda Lee Wilson Coffman. Dave’s parents were David Harry Wilson and Shirley Lee Fox Wilson.

The quartet travels together often. Today they are Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

But they have frolicked in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; in Sedona, Arizona; in Key West; in Cabo San Lucas; in New York City; or in Ohio’s Amish country.

They will reluctantly leave Myrtle Beach on Friday.
