Paula Morgan passes away

Paula Jean Burton Morgan, a 1986 Fairmont West graduate living in Monongah, passed away Monday, October 1.

She was married to 1974 Mannington High grad Billie Lee Morgan, Jr. They live on Walnut Street, where I was born in the house of my grandparents, Martin Olesky and Mary Peremba Olesky, in 1932.

Belinda Morgan Sheppard, Class of 1969, is Billie Lee’s sister. Belinda and husband George Sheppard live in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Belinda and Billie Lee are the children of Jacqueline Joyce Wilson Morgan of Monongah and the late Billie Lee Morgan, Sr. So is Rick Morgan of Kingmont.

Belinda called Paula “one of a kind, a great sister-in-law. She loved everyone and mothered them. You were such a hard worker. Now you can rest with the Lord.”

Kathy Reed noted, “Boy, could she decorate up some cakes” at the Fairmont Wal-Mart where Paula worked in the bakery.

Paula’s obituary:

Paula Jean Morgan, 50, of Monongah, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 31, 1968 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Alvin Burton and Betty Stuckey Burton.

She was employed by Wal Mart as a bakery worker, having previously worked at Shop n` Save. She loved camping in the mountains, enjoyed WVU Football, and loved spending time with her family and grandkids.


Survivors include her husband: Billie Lee Morgan, Jr.; children: Kimberly Morgan and fiancé` John Hudson of Monongah, Zack Morgan of Monongah, And Tammy Morgan and fiancé` Christopher Miliron of Fairmont; grandchildren: Chevy Hudson and Audrina Miliron; mother-in-law: Jacqueline Morgan of Monongah; sisters: Karen (Russell) Hayes and Shelly Burton all of Fairmont; brothers: Alvin Burton, Jr. and Robin Burton both of Fairmont; several nieces and nephews. close friend: Cheryl Allman and several additional friends including her Wal Mart family.


In addition to her parents, Paula is preceded in death by a sister: Susie Mays and her father-in-law: Billie Morgan, Sr.


Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating.
