1989 North Marion grad Jenny Sypult Shaver
of Monongah is being honored for the month of October by the Marion County
Rescue Squad as a breast cancer fighter.
Jenny
is married to Ronnie Shaver. Her children
are Stevie Haught and Corbin Sypult.
Her parents are Rick and Gloria Sypult. Jenny’s younger
siblings are Hiedi and Ricky.
Jenny has had her own hairdresser business for more than
20 years.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. Recently,
it spread to her liver, so she’s facing more treatments for three months.
To support Jenny and breast cancer fighters and
survivors, pink flamingo statues will be popping up all over Monongah.
If there’s one thing Monongah is good at, it’s coming
together to help each other. It was that way when I lived there on Church
Street in the 1950s. Nothing has changed.
Prayers and best wishes and good luck to you, Jenny!
