Henrietta Lipinski Hawkins
(January 27, 1945 - September 6, 2015)

She is the daughter of the late Henry “Cheese” Lipinski and Goldie DeFazio Lipinski, and resided at Pleasant Acres Assisted Living in Fairmont.

In her early years, Henrietta worked at Westinghouse. Family was very important to her and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. She kept in contact with her many friends through “extended” telephone conversations. Frequent trips to play the Ladybug slots at The Meadows and Atlantic City were a source of enjoyment for her. Henrietta was an avid sports fan and loved watching the WVU Mountaineers. She was a woman of strong faith as evidenced by the way she cared for aging family members in their final years. Henrietta was blessed with many special friends who were a source of strength and support in her final months and visited her frequently.

She is survived by her loving husband, Fred Hawkins Jr., whom she married on October 31, 1968 and shared almost 48 years of wonderful memories. She is also survived by her two daughters; Laura Hawkins of Elkins and Lisa Hawkins Saenz (and husband Joel) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She has two grandsons-Justin and Lane Saenz. Her sisters, who all reside in Monongah, are Joyce Lipinski Evans (and husband Donnie), Judy Lipinski Cook (husband Mickey) and Sandra Lipinski Hawkins (husband Chuck). Henrietta has several nieces and nephews as well as DeFazio and Lipinski cousins.

She was cared for at home by devoted family and wonderful friends and neighbors, until recently when she moved to Pleasant Acres Assisted Living Facility in Fairmont, where the devoted staff of Pleasant Acres took great care of her.
