Claudia Voyle Melton passes away

Worthington’s Claudia Pearl Voyle Melton, mother of three Monongah High and one North Marion High alumni, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17.

Her children are Barbara Melton Earl, Class of 1978; Charles Melton, Class of 1973; John Melton, Class of 1975; and Thomas Melton, North Marion 1984 grad. All the children live in Fairmont.

Claudia Pearl Melton
(March 12, 1933 - September 17, 2015)

Claudia Pearl Melton, 82, of Worthington, WV passed away Thursday Sept. 17 at Woodland’s Assisted Living in Worthington, WV. She was born March 12, 1933 in Fairmont, WV, daughter of the late Thomas and Alpha (Johnson) Voyle.

 

She is survived by four children, Charles Melton and wife Tamma of Elkins, WV, John Melton and wife Penney, Barbara Earl and husband David, and Thomas Melton, all of Fairmont; grandchildren, Stacey Smith and husband Harry, Amy Hill and husband Frank, Eric Melton and wife Rebecca, John Todd Melton, Raven Elizabeth Melton, Wyatt Melton, and Sara Earl; several great grandchildren; and two nieces, Betty Ann Wright and Martha Vincent.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Walter Melton, Jr.; a brother, Thomas Voyle; and a sister Elizabeth “Betty” Watson.

 

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday Sept. 19, in the funeral home.
