WVU campaign at 90% of $1 Billion Goal
In 12 months,
the WVU Foundation has received $125 million in new gifts and is at 90% of its
$1 billion goal.
Cindi Roth, president and CEO of the WVU Foundation, said the campaign
has created more than 600 new student scholarships and nearly 200 new funds to
aid research.
Since the campaign began, more than 75,000 donors have contributed close to
300,000 gifts.
Fewer than 100 schools nationwide are supported by campaigns targeting a
goal of $1 billion.
The State of Minds campaign will officially
close at the end of 2017.
Because the WVU
Foundation is non-profit, and separate from WVU itself although such things as
the Mountaineer Athletic Club that supports WVU sports is run through the Foundation,
donations are tax-deductible.
