In March, Debbie
Prunty Poluck and Louis Poluck, both class of 1973, saw their son, Todd Poluck,
marry Kirsten.
Two
days ago Debbie and Louis celebrated their wedding anniversary. They live in
Idamay.
Debbie works
at Davis Electric. Her mom is 1950 Farmington High grad Margie Jones Prunty.
Debbie’s brother is John Prunty II, 1980 North Marion High grad,
married to Geneva. He works at Quality
Hydraulics and lives in Monongah. His father, John Prunty, Jr., is Monongah
Class of 1949.
Tammie
Poluck Shumate is Class of 1977.
Keeping
track of who is related to whom and how is a full-time job for me because so
many Monongah High families have married into other families.
In my
case, Frances Olesky Fazio, the sister of my father, John W. Olesky, Sr.,
married Renzy Fazio. Dad’s other sister, Helen Olesky Kerekes, married Steve
Kerekes.
There
were 13 children in the Fazio family. Uncle Steve had a sister, Claire Yuhas,
who lived in Carolina with her three daughters, Irene, Tunney and Elizabeth.
So that
means I have blood or marital ties to the Fazios, the Kerekeses, the Yuhases,
the Preolettis, the Ramseys, the Dibiases, the Pasquales, the DeCarlos, the
Domicos, the DePonds.
Plus
the Eates, Kasper and DeMary families provided godparents for my three
children.
No
wonder everyone in Monongah takes care of everyone else in Monongah. It’s not a
village; it’s a family of families!
