Monongah Town Recorder Patty Steele McCombs is married to
Harless’ brother, Bill McCombs, Class of 1969, who is Monongah Water Director
and on the Town Council.
Lisa’s
mother, Pat Myers, taught at Monongah Elementary and her father, John Myers,
was the Golf Pro at Green Hills Golf Club for many years.
Diana
has written “I
Don’t Want to Sit in the Front Row Any More,” a memoir based on the loss of her parents, Anna and Louis
Pishner, and “Spaghetti and Meatballs! My family is Italian!,” about
growing up Italian in Clarksburg, where she graduated from Clarksburg Notre
Dame High School in 1977.
The
Fairmont State graduate works for the Marion County Board of Education.Annette is North Marion Class of 1980 because she missed being a Monongah High graduate by one year because MHS consolidated into North Marion after the 1979 class.
She wrote “Eat, Scream and Be Merry”
about the D’Luca Italian family that lives on Main Street in Mountain Brooke. And
“Max the Zany Dog.”
The late Connie Bonasso Rogers, Class
of 1948, was Annette’s dad’s cousin.
Annette grew up with six brothers and
sisters above her father’s company store. She and her husband still make their
home in West Virginia, where her Italian heritage has been a strong influence
in her life.
Annette is a graduate of Fairmont
State College with a Graphic Arts degree and once enjoyed being a self-employed
baker. Since, she has devoted her life to being a creative mom to her two
daughters.
The Monongahfest weekend will be a
busy one, starting with the Town-Wide Yard Sale and winding up with Greg
Patrick’s Car Show.
