The Gamblers will perform at Monongahfest

·         Ronnie Burroughs, with The Gamblers band, said his group will perform 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 in the 2015 Monongahfest.

At 8 a.m., The Miners Run on a 3.61-mile course begin.

The Monongahfest Pinball Tournament 2015 will start at 9:30 a.m. in the Monongah Volunteer Fire Department Building at 134 Bridge Street.

The Monongahfest Car Show, which is Jenna Won’t Sing Band leader Greg Patrick’s baby, will be Sunday, Aug. 16.

The West Virginia Legislature, through its Fairs and Festivals Fund, kicks in more than $5,000 annually for the Monongahfest.

The first Monongahfest was in 1988. Incorporation papers list the Monongahfest address as 107 Parkway Drive in Monongah.

Although the Monongahfest is only a month away, no schedule has been provided that I know of. So I get my information piecemeal.

When the full schedule is announced it will be published on this Monongah High Alumni blog which draws an average of more than 2,600 hits per month.
