Monongah’s Tim Orwig, passed away Thursday, May 14 in Farmington.

MARCUS ORWIG
Sept. 2, 1945 - May 14, 2015
George Marcus Orwig. 69, of Farmington
and formerly of Fairmont, passed from this life Thursday, (May 14, 2015) at his
home, after a long illness. He was born in Fairmont on September 2, 1945 a son
of the late George Thomas and Waneta Kathleen Pinson Orwig.
Mark had formerly worked at Sharon Steel and he retired as a coal miner at the Loverage mine for Consolidation Coal Co. He was a Christian by faith. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Viet Nam War.
He held memberships in the NRA; Moose Lodge 1344, UMWA, District 31, Steel Workers Union and the BPOE in Mannington. He enjoyed fishing, selling at flee markets, reading, going to the shooting range and collecting war materials of all types.
Mr. Orwig is survived by his loving wife of twenty years Barbara Miller Orwig of Farmington; two sons and one daughter Tim Orwig and his wife Christine of Monongah; Andy Orwig and Katie Orwig; step-children Sheila Haller and husband Bruce of Worthington, Tina Dillow and husband Marvin of NC and Charlie Bingamon of Ft. Myers, FL; eight grandchildren Connor and Cooper Orwig, Cody, Dustin, Austin, Preston, Beth and Grace.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Jennings Orwig and Randy Lane Redmond. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no funeral home visitation or service. He will be cremated and his ashes interred at the WV National cemetery with full military honors, at a later date, that will be announced. Condolences ay be sent to the family at FHFF320@AOL.COM or below.
