Jim Fullen, Class of 1962, passes away

Jim Fullen, Class of 1962, passed away Thursday, May 14 in his Columbia City, Indiana home.

His siblings are Dan Fullen, Class of 1961, who lives in Four States; Connie Fullen Cantrell, Class of 1966,  who lives in Jasper, Alabama; and Charlotte Fullen Lloyd, Class of 1968, who lives in Bear, Delaware.

They had a service for Jim in Indiana on Sunday and will have another at the Domico Funeral Home in Fairmont on Thursday.

There have been a lot of Fullens roaming the halls of Monongah High. From 1945 through 1968, 1955 was the only year without a Fullen in Lions Country.

They include:

Ramona Fullen Michalski, Class of 1949, who lives in Monongah and is the widow of Frank Michalski, who started with the Class of 1950.

Geraldine Fullen Ross, Class of 1950, who lives in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Shirley Fullen Bartosh, Class of 1954. Shirley’s father was the half-brother of Ramona’s grandfather.

Delbert Fullen, Class of 1960.

Jean Fullen Huffman, Class of 1962.

Bernard Fullen, Class of 1963, brother of Geraldine Fullen Ross.

Janice Fullen Mayfield, Class of 1964.

Constance Fullen Cantrell, Class of 1966.

Charlotte Fullen Lloyd, Class of 1968.

James Clay Fullen

1951 - 2015

James Clay Fullen, 63, of Columbia City, was found dead of natural causes at his home Thursday, May 14, 2015.

He was born Dec. 23, 1951 in Fairmont, W.Va., a son of George E. and Betty M. (Tomlinson) Fullen Sr. His formative years were spent in Monongah, W.Va. He graduated from Monongah High School.

He was employed at Bausch & Lomb and retired from Gassify Florist in June 2014.

Surviving relatives include three siblings, Daniel L. (Ina) Fullen, of Four States, W.Va., Connie J. (Larry) Cantrell, of Jasper, Ala. and Charlotte A. (David) Lloyd, of Bear, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George E. Fullen Jr.; and a sister, Janice M. Spinner.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with the family receiving friends after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Fairmont W.Va.

Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association .
