Former Monongah Town Councilman Sanford Carr is home after another stay in the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center in Morgantown.

He had fluid in both lungs and heart and had trouble breathing.

He’s still weak and struggles to walk so there’s more recovery needed.

Sanford has been married for almost a half-century to Linda-Nobel Carr, Class of 1967. They live in Monongah, on Camden Avenue for 40 years.

Sanford has had seven heart attacks, in 2016 spending time at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown across from Mountaineer Field and in 2014 and 2017 (twice) at the VA hospital.
Obviously, he’s a real fighter.

And, for years, went around Monongah cleaning up dilapidated property without compensation. As recently as 2016 on Camden Avenue (U.S. 19) with the help of Danny DeNoon and Rick Sypult, who is married to Gloria Sypult.

As for Linda she has been dealing with leg problems for some time.

Their children and spouses are 1989 North Marion grad Tonia Carr Posten & Bill Posten, also a North Marion grad, and Bryan Carr & Amie Carr.
They have four grandchildren, Tyler Carr, Teala Carr Jesseman, Patrick Carr and Gabriel Carr. Tyler and Teala are Toni and Bill’s children. Teala is married to David Jesseman.

Tonia and Bill have been married 21 years. Bill is in Mobile maintenance at First Energy and Tonia works in the Monongah Water Office. They live in Monongah.

The late Loraine Gorey Phillips Knobel was Linda’s stepmother. Loraine passed away in 2017. Loraine’s daughter, Paula Knobel Park, passed away in 2016. Loraine’s husband, Robert Knobel, was Paula’s stepfather.
Loraine’s son-in-law, Charley Parker, also lives in Monongah, widower of Belinda Nobel Parker,  Class of 1968, Loraine’s stepdaughter.

Linda and Blinda Nobel were the daughters of Robert and Dorothy Nobel whose son, Robert Jr., passed away.
