Bill Meredith, Class of 1957, passed along the RSVP replies for the annual Monongah High Alumni reunion in Florida on Monday (February 26).

“I haven’t heard from Peggy Orsini. I’ll try to get pictures to you.

“Bill”

The reunion will be at the 3201 Charles MacDonald Drive home of Bill and wife Roleta, a Clarksburg Washington Irving graduate.

If you will be near Sarasota on Monday, call Bill at (941) 342-0030 or (614) 582-0335 so he can put your name at the guard station to permit your entry into his gated community.

This has been going on about a decade.

The party will start at 11 a.m. and usually runs till late afternoon because no one wants to leave the pride of Lions gathering.

Bill said that dress is casual, with shorts appropriate if the weather is warm enough.

Roleta will provide ham, buns, baked beans and coleslaw.  Iced tea and soft drinks will be available.

The Merediths live about 2 miles east of I-75, Exit 207 (Bee Ridge Road).

The 2018 Monongah High Alumni Reunion in  Fairmont will be Saturday, May 26 at the Knight of Columbus on Mary Lou Retton Drive.

If you would like to attend the biggie gathering of Lions in Fairmont, phone Donna Davis at (304) 534-5636. She'll provide details, costs and dinner-dance reservation forms.

If your class is an honor class --  1958, 1968 and 1978 -- then someone has to take charge, notify Donna who will spearhead that honor class' activities on Saturday and probably a one-class reunion on Friday.

If Otis “Sarge” Shriver can round up enough Class of 1948 members for their 70-year reunion on the 2018 Memorial Day weekend, Donna said they would also be an honor class.

Contact Sarge at (304) 290-0201. The ‘48s will be meeting the Friday before the Saturday all-class Monongah High Alumni Reunion in Fairmont.
