Linda Lopez Gandy, Class of 1965, and
Jim Gandy, Class of 1964, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my Wonderful Husband, it’s been a wonderful
life.
Happy Anniversary to my wonderful wife, it’s
been 54 wonderful years and hope for many more. We are going to St Augustine
for the day and next week to Rod Stewart concert in Jacksonville.
They live in Alachua, Florida but manage to make it to the
Monongah High Alumni Banquet every year because Linda is MHS Alumni Association
president Jim Is on the board of directors
Jim keeps Linda’s replacement heart valve working at a loving
pace. Linda’s late father, Sam Lopez, survived the sinking of the USS
Indianapolis during World War II despite 5 days in shark infested waters in the
eastern Pacific Ocean.
Linda’s mother, Joanne
Vandetta Lopez, daughter of Frank
and Olga (Grandoni) Vandetta, and
who attended Monongah High and lived in Monongah, passed away in
2012. Shipwreck survivor Sam passed away in 2018.
