Sadly, names on the June birthday
list last year no longer are among us.
Like Kenneth
Kincaid, Class of 1968, whose widow is Francie Kincaid. His birthday was June
7.
Or John Koloskie, Jr.,
Class of 1944, whose birthday was June 8. He was one of the oldest Monongah
High Alumni.
Since Mary Catania
Heywood of Covina, California and Ann DeMary Eates of Monongah, both in the
Class of 1945, also passed away, that means, behind #1 Amelia Shenasky Zentz,
Class of 1938, who lives in Monongah, is Jeanette Barr Baczuk, Class of 1940,
who lives in Ashland, Ohio, and Kathren Ahern Loss, Class of 1942, a regular at
recent Monongah High Alumni Banquets.
But it’s time to celebrate
June birthdays with a legendary living Lion like Ramona Fullen Michalski, Class
of 1949, widow of Frank Michalski, Class of 1950. Ramona’s home is de facto
Monongah High Lions museum and the favorite visiting site for Monongah alumni
when they come into Monongah.
She provided me with Monongah High graduation lists for
every year from the first class in 1918 through the final class in 1979. That
REALLY helps me when I do articles on this blog.
There have been a lot of Fullens roaming the halls of Monongah
High. From 1945 through 1968, 1955 was the only year without a Fullen in Lions
Country.

Ramona Fullen Michalski, Class of 1949, who lives in Monongah
and is the widow of Frank Michalski, who started with the Class of 1950.
Geraldine Fullen Ross, Class of 1950.
Shirley
Fullen Bartosh, Class of 1954. Shirley’s father was the half-brother of
Ramona’s grandfather.
Delbert Fullen, Class of 1960.
Jean Fullen Huffman, Class of 1962.
Bernard Fullen, Class of 1963, brother of Geraldine Fullen Ross.
Janice Fullen Mayfield, Class of 1964.

Richardson of Colorado and Virginia Manuel Eddy, both Class of 1950. Both
have passed away.
Monongah High's final graduation was Class of 1979, before Monongah joined Farmington, Barrackville, Mannington and Fairview to form North Marion. So all North Marion grads listed here for Class of 1982 or earlier started at Monongah High.
