New Dairy Kone owners Sandra and Lloyd Parrish |
Monongah’s Dairy Kone changes hands
again
Dairy Kone, at Pike Street and Camden Avenue (U.S. 19) in Monongah, has changed
owners again.
Amelia Shenasky and
husband Bruce Zentz built the store. Amelia is the daughter of the late P.P. Shenasky
Grocery owners Pete and Nell Shenasky. Amelia and Bruce owned Dairy Kone for 18 years.
Bruce passed away after
55 years of marriage to Amelia who, at 96, lives on Shenasky Lane, the road
across from the Shenasky Grocery building owned today by John L. Boggess.
His parents are Evelyn Kasper Boggess and Okey Boggess, who live in the Frogtown
home of Evelyn's birth just south of Monongah off U.S. 19 and near St. Barbara’s
Nursing Home.
In the past 10 years,
Gary and Diane Masters were the owners. It is next door to Monongah Art and Antiques, owned by Diane
Criswell Furr.
Now
it’s owned by Sandra and Lloyd Parrish. The Dairy Kone hours will remain
11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
