The Class of 1971 is one of the most active Monongah High graduation classes. They show up in numbers in Monongah High Alumni Reunion after reunion.

Jay Holman seems to be the driving force behind getting the 1971 classmates together again and again.

It helps that party girl and traveler Sue Ahouse Schrader is a 1971 graduate. Sue has homes in Piscataway, New Jersey and Monongah’s  Stoney Lonesome, but doesn’t stay put long in either with all her gallivanting. Sue’s son, Chris Schrader, lives in Philadelphia.

And that Susan Staron Sanders, the angel of Thomas Street, keeps adding Christmas street lights to Monongah with her fundraising efforts.

Jennifer Sabo Yanero’s brother, John Sabo, is Class of 1975. They were among the six children of Worthington’s late Mary Greynolds Sabo.

The late Ed Graffius’ siblings are Brenda Graffius Barna, Class of 1974; Dave Graffius, Class of 1973, and the late Donald Graffius, Jr.  Their parents are Helen Prahl Graffius, daughter of Paul and Beulah Toothman Prahl,  and the late Donald Graffius.

Brenda Ridenour Graffius, Class of 1974, a Licensed Practical Nurse living in Pleasant Valley, is Ed’s widow.

Siblings of the late John Lushinski, Jr. are Laraine Lushinski, Class of 1964, married to Denzil Clark, and Rosemary Lushinski Tetrick, Class of 1958, living in Ambridge with husband Ronald Tetrick. Their parents were John Lushinski, Sr. and Sophie Sobolewski Lushinski.

Donald and Ronald Collins’ sister is 1986 North Marion grad Sandra Dee Collins. Their mother was the late Martha Shaver Collins of Worthington.

Deborah Puccio’s sister, Josie Puccio Dalton, Class of 1973, is the widow of Larry Dalton, Class of 1968. Larry’s sister, Janice Marie Dalton Bayne, Class of 1965, lives in Georgia.

Fairmont State graduate Brenda Urban, who moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is Stanley Urban, Jr.’s daughter and the granddaughter of Stanley Urban, Sr., long-ago proprietor of Urban’s Grocery south of the UMW Hall.  Brenda's brothers are Greg Urban, Class of 1966, who lives in North Carolina, and the late Mark Urban, Class of 1969, who lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Robert Bonasso’s siblings are Jack Bonasso Jr. of Florida; Linda Jones, who lives with husband Charles in Morgantown; Jo Ann Bonasso Rengers of Morgantown, Annette Bonasso Ellyson, who lives with husband Jeff in Carolina; Maria Bonassoa Bluestone, who lives in Pittsburgh with husband Jim; and the late Danny Bonasso, Class of 1975, whose widow is Jan Bonasso of Carolina. Their parents are Virginia Ann “Dee” Bonasso and the late Jack Ignatious Bonasso, Sr.

The late Gary Haught’s sister is Tammy Haught Vandergrift of Frankfurt, Kentucky. Gary and Tammy’s mother is Nellie Fortney Haught and the late Jennings Haught.

Judy Lemley Mancino studied secretarial/office at OIC Training Academy and lives in Enterprise. She grew up in Carolina.

Jay Holman lives in Carolina or North Carolina, depending upon his jobs and moods.

Doris Carpenter Rogers lives in Charleston with husband Scott Rogers.

Nisha Davis lives in Morgantown.

Pat Levelle lives in Athens, Georgia
