Okey Edgell’s sister passes away

Lillieray May “Pickle” Hall, 97, sister of Okla “Okey” Edgell, Class of 1944, and sister-in-law of Arlene Marteney Edgell, Class of 1951, passed away Friday, May 16 in Clarksburg.

Lillieray May "Pickle" Hall, 97, formerly of Salem, passed from this life Friday, (May 16, 2014) at the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehab Center, where she has been a resident for the past three years. She was born in Pine Grove on August 9, 1916 a daughter of the late Ray and Lucy Cain Edgell.

Pickle worked in a cork factory in Baltimore, in Demus Grocery Store in Worthington and then cleaned houses around Worthington. She was a member of the Ten-Mile Church of Christ in Bristol.

She resided with her sister, Jeanette, in Salem for thirty six years before moving to the center. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and working puzzles. In her younger years she spent a great deal of time at the Tygart River swimming, boating and skiing, which she always remembered.

Ms. Hall is survived by her only sister Jennette J. Lane of Three Rivers Michigan; her brother and sister-in-law Okla "Okey" and Arlene Edgell of Fairmont; her daughter-in-law Donna Hall of Weirton; four grandchildren Ralph F. Hall, III of Weirton, Robert F. Snyder Hall of Weirton, Maria Davis (Patrick) of Shadyside, OH and Joe Snyder of Alabama; five great grandchildren Nathan, Damien, Seth, Nicholas and Zoey Davis all of Ohio; her lifetime best friend Lou Bice of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 4 years Ralph Hall; her only son Ralph Hall Jr.; two brothers Doak and wife Jean Edgell, James E. Edgell; sister-in-law Louise Edgell; brother-in-law Hurl Lane; and her feline buddies Katina and Panther.

Friends may call at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St., Fairmont Sunday from 2-7 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home Sunday at 7:00 pm with Evangelist Kevin Lough officiating. In keeping with her wishes following the service she will be cremated.
