Monongah’s former Trinity Independent Church pastor, Frank Cosco, who attended both East
Fairmont and West Fairmont high schools and is married to Monongah High grad
Sharon Cosco, has early-stage cancer on his vocal chords.
Sharon said the doctor told her there’s a
95% success rate in treating cancer at that level.
Frank
and Sharon retired from Fairmont General Hospital. They live
on Lyndon Avenue in Monongah. Frank
is a 1967 Fairmont East graduate.
Frank’s siblings are Jimmy, Domenick, Paul,
Sam, John, Joe and Paul Cosco and Rose Cosco Demarco.
Frank and brother Joe Cosco, who lives in White Hall, in 2014
opened Cosco’s Sandwich Shop at 300 Merchant Street in Fairmont. Frank ran
unsuccessfully for Monongah Town Council in 2015 and 2017.
Former Fairmont radio station WMMN entertainer Sharon married
coal miner Chester Parker, who passed away in 1979 at the age of 38, in
Winchester, Virginia. Then she became Frank Cosco's wife. Sharon and Chester’s
children are Roy, Michael, Shawn, Christopher and Crystal Parker Towns.
Sharon's parents were Tilden Phillips, son
of E.C. Phillips, and Virginia Fullen Phillips.
