Joe Cameon, Jr., Class of 1974,
passed away Thursday, July 18 in Fairmont.
His mother, Frances Anna King Cameron, is Class of 1942. His
father was Joseph Cameon, Sr., one of nine children of Clyde and Maggie Cameon,
including Joe, Sr.’s brothers Arthur and Rudy Cameon.
Joe, Jr.’s siblings:
Angela Cameon Viney, Class of 1968, who
lives in Spartansburg, South Carolina, and got the Lifetime Conservation Award from the Conservation Voters
of South Carolina for her work that includes the Red Cross, the Wildlife
Federation and Upstate Forever. She is a board member of Spartanburg’s Water
and Sewer commissions. Her Red Cross including working in communities from West
Virginia to Missouri to South Carolina.
Joanna Cameon Reeves, Class of 1971, who
lives in Mannington.
Francine Cameon Jurasko, Class of
1978, who lives in Carolina.
Denise Cameon Jett, who lives in
Carolina.
George Cameon, deceased.

Joseph “Joe” Cameon Jr., 63, of Fairmont, passed away at
his home on July 18, 2019. He was born on February 03, 1956, in Fairmont, a son
of Frances Anna (King) Cameon, of Fairmont, and the late Joseph Cameon Sr.
After graduating Monongah High School in 1974, Joe went on to work in construction. He was a strong man of integrity, with a gentle heart. He was on a mission for the Lord, a “saved man of God” who “fought the good fight” and went to be with the Lord.
Joe is survived by his very loving and compassionate wife of 27 years, Mary (Satterfield) Cameon.
He is also survived by sisters: Angela Viney, of South Carolina, Jo Ann Reeves and husband Arthur, of Mannington, Francine Jurosko and husband Gregory, of Carolina, and Denise Jett, of Carolina; stepchildren: Chad R. Morris and wife Valery (Vangilder) Morris, of Virginia, Christy Cumberledge and husband Jeff, of Pennsylvania, and Casey J. Morris and wife Shannon, of Fairmont; and step-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Morris, of Virginia, Ryliegh Morris, of Virginia, Autumn Cumberledge, of Pennsylvania, Jenna Morris, of Virginia, Allen Perrine, of Fairmont, and Miranda Michael and husband Remington, of Fairmont; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brother, George Cameon; step-grandson, Evan Richard Morris, who died in infancy; and nephew, Charlie Jett.

Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., with a memorial service being held at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Edward Carpenter and Scott Cutlip officiating.
