MHS Alumni Reunion reservations only halfway to 2017 total
Unless more Monongah High alumni get their reservations in, the 2018 Monongah High Alumni Reunion will have a drastic drop in attendance.
MHS Alumni Association Treasurer Donna Davis, who handles the dinner-dance reservations for the May 26 reunion, write that the total hasn't hit 100.
There were 225 at the 2017 Reunion. If attendance drops too far, the oldest high school reunion in West Virginia might fade away completely some day.
Since this will be the 95th MHS Reunion it would be a sad day, indeed, if the tradition were allowed to die out just because there have been no new graduates since 1979.
If you’re on the fence, call Donna at (304) 534-5636 and add your name to the reservations list.
The 1958, 1968 and 1978 graduates are the honor classes.
The 2018 Reunion will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26 with the banquet in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1529 Mary Lou Retton Drive in Fairmont.
Honor classes will gather at 5:30 p.m. for their class photos.
The dance to the music of the Stepping Stones will begin at 8:30 p.m.
