Judy
Layne Alkire’s husband, Charles Alkire, has passed away. They live on Bunner’s
Ridge.
Judy
grew up in Frogtown, just south of Monongah off U.S. 19 before Swisher Hill.
There
were 12 children in the Layne family.
The Layne, Kubiet and Kasper families lived in 3 houses in a row in Frogtown.
Her
sister, Doris, married the guy next door, Joe Kubiet, Jr. and they live in
Monongah. And they grew up playing with Evelyn Kasper Boggess, who still lives
in the Kasper home of her childhood with husband Otis Boggess, and Bob Kasper,
who has homes in South Lyon and Presque Isle (Grand Lake), Michigan.
Judy’s
siblings are Doris; Carol Layne Elliott of Mill Fall, married to Ronald
Elliott; Shirley Layne Russell of Fairmont, married to Charles Russell; and
JoAnne Layne Snider of Monongah, married to William Snider; and, all deceased, Bradley,
Charles, David, Johnny and Robert Layne and Betty Layne Bowyer and Margaret Layne
Faber.
Their
parents were Charles and Mary Jackson Layne.
