Tony Tarley
passes away
Anthony Tarley,
who quit school at age 13 to help his family with 10 children when Tony’s
coal-miner dad died and the family was evicted, passed away Saturday, November
12.
Kathy Tarley Parker, Michael Tarley and Mark Tarley,
of Hickory, North Carolina, are the children of Tony and Marcella Tarley. Mark
is a 1985 North Marion High and Fairmont State graduate. Kathy,
married to Christopher Parker, lives in Monongah.
Tony, who grew up in Four States, quit school at age 13 to help his family
with 10 children when Tony’s coal-miner dad, Anton, died and the family was
evicted.
Anton came to America from Splitts, Croatia.
Kathy and Marcia Michalski Westfall are fellow teachers
in Monongah.
Calling honors at Domico Funeral Home in Fairmont for
Tony will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 15 and 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 16 with funeral services at 1
p.m. Thursday, November 17.
