Chief Barnhart |
Rick Barnhart, who
replaced Chris Veltri as Monongah police
chief in August 2014, will retire from that post January 13, 2017.
The town is looking for a
replacement.
Barnhart has 32 years of
experience in police work. He came to Monongah from Salem, where Barnhart was a
police lieutenant.
Chief Barnhart lives in Lumberport. He’ll continue part-time administrative duty in
Worthington to help build up that town’s police department.
At Monongah, he instituted concealed
weapons classes and unused prescriptions returns.
