Edgel Smith passes away
Ronnie “Ed” Edgel Smith, grandfather of Nicholas and Austin Vaughn of
Monongah, passed away Saturday, March 3.
His sister, Donna Vaughn, lives in
Farmington with husband Harry Vaughn.

Ronnie “Ed”
Edgel Smith, age 50, of Mannington, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at
Fairmont Regional Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1967 at Rochester,
PA, a son of Ronnie M. Smith and Ruth Ann (Barnett) Smith of Mannington.
He is also
survived by a sister, Donna Vaughan and brother-in-law, Harry Vaughan of
Farmington; 3 sons, Troy Ridgely, Tyler Ridgley and Tanner Smith, all of East
Liverpool, OH and one daughter, Kayla Nelson of East Liverpool, OH; two
grandchildren, Addison Smith and Peyton Gough; nephews, Joshua Smith of
Fairmont, Jonathan Burson of Mannington, Nicholas Vaughan of Monongah, Austin
Vaughan of Monongah, and Jacob Smith of Fairmont; a niece, Destiny Smith
Shreves; several great-nieces and great-nephews; a special aunt and uncle,
Rosalea and Don Barr of Rachel, WV and aunt Maddline McIntyre of Fairmont, WV.
Ed was
preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgel “Curly” and Alice Wilson and
Mathias and Edra Smith; a son, Trevor Smith; and a brother, Jason Smith.
Ed attended
Beaver Local High School in Ohio having graduated in 1987. He had formerly
worked with his father at Insole East Palestine Ohio Powerplant in Industry, PA
as a security guard. He also held numerous other jobs. Ed loved to work on his
mom and dad’s house, auto body on cars, fishing, riding four wheelers, walking
in the woods, being a caretaker for Hoover Michael and playing football,
wrestling and basketball during his days in high school.
Family and
friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Tuesday, March 5,
2018 from 12:00 – 3:00pm. Cremation was chosen as Ed’s final disposition.
