Theresa Nardi Erdeljac’s widower passes away 

Phil Erdeljac, Jr., widower of Theresa Nardi Erdeljac, Class of 1948, passed away Monday, March 24.

Theresa was a beautician for many years and a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Farmington, where they lived.

Theresa and Phil had been married for almost 57 years and had four children, all Farmington High graduates.

Phillip G. Erdeljac, Jr., 85, of Farmington, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born December 15, 1928 in Farmington, a son of the late Phillip Erdeljac, Sr. and Mary Hudak Erdeljac.
He was married on August 21, 1954 to Theresa V. Nardi of Monongah.
He was foreman for Consolidation Coal Co.’s No. 9 Mine, retiring with 38 years service in the mining industry. Phillip was an avid gardener and fan of WVU Sports and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the United States Army.
He was a graduate of Farmington High School, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 942 in Fairmont, American Legion Post 17 in Fairmont, and Mannington Moose Lodge 1344, as well as a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Farmington.
Survivors include his children and their spouses: Renee and Dan Duckworth, Laurel, MD, Phillip and Tracy Erdeljac, Meadville, PA, Joseph and Jessica Erdeljac, Cookeville, TN, John and Kelly Erdeljac, Findlay, OH; 4 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 6 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, 2 brothers and sisters-in-law: Dan and Connie Erdeljac, John Paul and Sonya Erdeljac, all of Houston, TX, 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara and Ronald Snodgrass, Farmington, and Cecilia McKittrick, Atlanta, GA.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of nearly 57 years, Theresa Vincenza Nardi Erdeljac, who died July 5, 2011, and 2 sisters, Mary Lou Kose and Julia Egress.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Thursday from 5-9 p.m. A Biblical Wake Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Farmington with Rev. Father Douglas B. Sutton as celebrant. Interment will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery with full military graveside honors. Condolences may be accessed at www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com .
