OMG, another Frankie Vandetta in Monongah’s world

Frankie Vandetta of Monongah and Stephanie Kishbaugh Vandetta, who once lived in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, are the parents of a son, little Frankie.

Papa Frankie Vandetta is a North Marion graduate and member of the Monongah Volunteer Fire Department.

One more Frankie in the Vandetta family is just going to confuse me more about who is related to whom and how.

There’s a Frankie Vandetta Jr., who is married to Brenda Sturm Vandetta.

There’s Debra Manzo Vandetta, the First Lady of Monongah because she is married to Monongah Mayor Greg Vandetta. Debbie, Class of 1973, also is busy preparing for the Monongahfest on Aug. 15.

The first Monongahfest was held in 1988, and Debbie has been a part of the festival committee since the very beginning.

Monongah's mayor, Class of 1975, is owner of Vandetta Construction. Greg and Debbie live in Monongah, of course.

Their son, Greg Vandetta II, is married to Janelle Vandetta.

Ronnie Manzo, Debbie's only siblng, and Janice Manzo's sons are, in order of birth, Evan, Andrew, Aaron, Ashley and Jared.

Andrew is production editor of The Villages (Florida) Sun for 114,000 residents who are 55 or older (a requirement to buy a home in The Villages).

Valderie Vandetta Aldridge, Class of 1973, works at Fairmont General Hospital and lives in Monongah with husband Jim Aldridge.

Suzi is a great-grandmother!

Suzanne Barr Loss, Class of 1948, who lives in Mill Fall, is a great-grandmother.

Andie Loss Moxley and Daniel Moxley of Fairmont had a girl, Vivian Lee Moxley, on Sunday, Aug. 31.
From left: Michael Loss, Andie Loss Moxley, Daniel Moxley, Suzanna Barr Loss

Andie’s father is Monongah High and WVU graduate Michael Loss, who lives on Harter Hill in Worthington with Susie Jett and is Suzi’s son.

And that makes Jeannette Barr Baczuk, Class of 1940, who lives in Ashland, Ohio, a great-aunt.

I know what a joy it is to become a great-grandparent, Suzi, since I spent Labor Day with 14 members of the Olesky family at our Tallmadge, Ohio home.

And I got to watch my TWO great-grandsons, Brett John (the fifth generation of John in the Olesky family) and Bryce romp around in our back yard.

If you want to see the Olesky-gathering album, which focuses on the great-grandsons, the relocation of the swing built 40 years ago by a West Virginian in Brimfield, Ohio, using West Virginia oak, click on

Family time is fun time.

Just ask Paula Kerns Fazio, wife of Joe Fazio and daughter of the late Dorothy Stevenski Kerns, Class of 1942, and Wester Warren “Bud” Kerns.

Paula Fazio
Effused Paula: Had a wonderful time at our granddaughter Charlotte's 1st birthday party over the weekend. It was a great day with really great people!”

Amen, Paula.

Paula and Joe’s daughter, Alex Fazio Huff, and Joe Huff, Charlotte’s parents, live in Bel Air, Maryland.

Mike wrote: “Welcome to the World, my beloved granddaughter! Love, Grandpa!”

Mike Loss’s father and Suzi’s husband, Arnold “J.B.” Loss, Class of 1947, passed away January 2, 2014.

Mike’s brother, David Loss, lives with wife Mary on the Loss property in Mill Fall once owned by Frank Loss, brother of Arnold’s father, J.B. Loss.

Another brother, Elliot Barr Loss, is deceased.

Great-grandpa Patsy Colisino
Well, the kid’s timing is off, but Leo Hudson Colisino weighed in at 8 pounds, 13 ounces stretched over a 19-inch frame at 7:51 a.m. Aug. 12.

That made Bev Morgan Colisino a grandmother again (her first arrived when she was 40, just like she did to her mother).

And Bev's husband, Harry James Colisino, a grandfather.

That made Patsy Colisino, another name from Monongah's long-ago past, a great-grandfather.

It also made new papa and tired mama pretty happy, too.
