2021 WINNERS FOR MAYOR, TOWN COUNCIL AND TOWN RECORDER

Sheila Runyan replaced Patty McCombs, Town Recorder for 20 years, who resigned for a successful run on the Town Council.

Top vote-getter for Town Council was Aaron Justice, with 111 votes, followed by Mike Parker with 110, current councilwoman Susan Sanders with 100, Roger Huffman with 99 and Patty McCombs with 92.

Susan Sanders, Aaron Justice and Roger Huffman were incumbents. Mike Parker is the only newcomer, although Patty McCombs is new to Town Council but a long-time fixture as Town Recorder.

Brenda Manzo, Bill McCombs and Teena Ailstock are the newest council members.

Bill’s wife, Fairmont East grad Patty, broke the tie that put Greg Vandetta into the mayor’s chair.

Monongah fire chief Harless McCombs, Class of 1976, is Bill McCombs’ brother. Harless is married to Monongah Middle School language arts teacher and children’s book author Lisa Myers McCombs, Class of 1977.

Mayor Greg Vandetta is Class of 1975.

Brenda Manzo is a Fairmont East grad, too. She’s married to Danny Manzo, Class of 1957.

Harris is president of the Monongah Community Employment Board.

Fairview High grad Bertha Wilson was the only incumbent not re-elected.
