sister, Carol Diane Fleming-Tobin, passed away on March 19, 2016.
Gary’s
daughter, Jennifer Fleming Grubb, lives in Monongah. Another daughter, Rebecca
Fleming McGinnis, lives in Fairmont.
Gary's
widow is Roberta Bartholow Fleming.
Gary
was in the Fairmont Times-West Virginian printing department for 40 years. He
was in the Marines during the Vietnam War.

Gary Dennis Fleming, 73, of Fairmont passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg.
Gary Dennis Fleming, 73, of Fairmont passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born in Monongah on November 27, 1942 a son of the late Earl Darius Fleming and Carol Morris Fleming.
Gary retired from the Times West Virginian newspaper after 40 years of service in the printing department. Gary was a graduate of Monongah High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corps during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed working in his garden and was a true animal lover especially his dog Maggie. Most important to him was spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren.
Gary was a Methodist by Faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Roberta Bartholow Fleming; two daughters, Jennifer Grubb and her husband Robert of Monongah and Rebecca McGinnis and her fiancée Eric Everhart of Fairmont and four very special grandchildren, Tori B. Grubb, Lily C. Grubb, Dylan McGinnis and Aubriana L. Everhart.
He is also survived by his brother, Richard Bradley Fleming of Fairmont; two sisters-in-law, Kathy A. McClure of Charleston and Susan Gaus and her husband Ronald of Fairmont; two brothers-in-law, David Bartholow of Monongah and Roger Bartholow and his wife Netty of Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Kenneth Nicholson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his sister, Carol Diane Tobin and her husband Mel; a brother, Donald Earl Fleming; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Nicholson and James R. Bartholow; a sister-in-law, Susie Stevens Fleming and his mother-in-law, Thelma Matthews Bartholow.
In keeping with the wishes to the deceased, his body will be cremated. Interment will take place at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military Honors at a later date.

There’s Bill Fleming -- William Fleming III, Class of 1960 – quarterback of the unbeaten
Monongah High football teams in 1958 and 1959 who lives in Lynchburg, Virginia.
His wife is Patty Sellers, a Fairmont West grad from
Martinsburg. They’ve been married more than a half-century.
Bill’s
mother was Meryle Houchin Fleming. Bill’s grandfather and Barbara Fleming Marsh’s father,
Fred Fleming, were brothers.
Tom
Fleming, Sr. also was in the Class of 1960. So was Mary Fleming Toothman. Another
Tom Fleming is a
1982 North Marion grad who started at Monongah High before it consolidated into
NMHS. Tom lives in Bridgeport and is married to Ruby, who also went to Monongah High before
transitioning to North Marion.
Barbara and Fred grew up on Fleming Hill, which had
several family homes above Booth’s Creek and the railroad trestle just off the
West Fork River.
David Fleming is Class of 1966.
Elizabeth Moosey Fleming is Class of 1943.
William H. Fleming, Jr. was Class of 1937.
Mary Lee Fleming Brumage was Class of 1936.
Lorraine Fleming Vernon is Class of 1925.
