HERE'S YOUR CHANCE FOR A FOOTBALL AUTOGRAPHED BY NICK SABAN

Want football autographed by Nick Saban and wife Ms. Terry?

An Alabama football autographed by head coach Nick Saban, Class of 1969, and his wife, Terry Constable Saban, will be the main prize raffled off at the July 17 J&J&Lions Get-Together in the Monongah Town Hall.

Brother sent me a boxful of other items that also will be given to those who purchase tickets after they enter the hall, restricted only to those who have pre-Registration forms filled out and delivered and paid $20 per person for the dinner and night of music for listening and dancing. It will begin at 6 p.m. with the dinner and continue till 9 p.m. The ticket drawings will be held midway through the event.

Every penny for the drawing tickets will go to the Monongah High Alumni Association scholarship fund.

If you would like to attend, print and fill out the Registration form and mail it with $20 per person and you choice of entrée.

No one will be allowed entry without Registering IN ADVANCE. Only those granted entrance can buy tickets for the drawing.

This is NOT – I repeat, NOT -- the annual Monongah High Alumni banquet but a John Olesky attempt to get family and classmates together during the summer as a break from the COVID restrictions.

The annual Monongah High Alumni Banquet will be on Labor Day weekend at the Knights of Columbus in Fairmont. If you have any questions call Donna Davis at 304-534-5636. Her address is:

7 DAYS TO GET YOUR REGISTRATION FORM TO JOHN OLESKY.

Mayor Johnboy Palmer will be there July 17. You?

Mayor Johnboy Palmer is among the confirmed Reservations for the Saturday, July 17 J&J&Lions Get-Together in the Monongah Town Hall. Word is that more are on their way.

Dinner at 6 p.m. Music for listening or dancing till 9 p.m.

It is open to anyone who gets a Reservation IN MY HANDS by June 26 as long as they have had their COVID vaccines – families of Jackie Olesky Straight, Class of 1955, who lives in Rivesville, and John Olesky, Class of 1950, who lives in Tallmadge, Ohio; our Fazio cousins in Monongah; Monongah High alumni; residents of Monongah who didn’t graduate from Monongah High; and anyone who wants to join people in these categories.

That’s so that we can let Say-Boy Restaurant know how many mouths to feed and how many of each entrée were requested.

Click on the Reservations form above, enlarge it to 8 x 10, fill it out and mail with a check for $20 for each person who will attend to:

John Olesky

217 N Thomas Road

Tallmadge, OH 44278

Questions: Call John at (330) 388-4466

We want it to be as safe and as much fun and full of nostalgia as possible.

Councilman Susan Staron Sanders, Class of 1971, and Shelly Yankie, on the Monongah Chistmas Lights Committee, will be hanging red and black streamers (Monongah High’s colors) and I will be bringing a 24 x 38 frame photo of the Monongah High Lion and a 15 x 25 foot WVU quilt-like cloth to display and to hang from the ceiling.

And they are working on a cake with a Monongah High theme and pastries with an “M” for Monongah High.

The music will contribute to the nostalgia, to patriotism, to loving couples and will include “Country Roads,” of course.

There be NO last-minute admittance at the door for those without Reservations. The Reservations list will be posted at the door.

So you have about 2 weeks to get in on the action or hear about all the fun you missed on July 17.

NICK SABAN SENT THESE SOUVENIRS FOR THOSE WHO ATTEND THE JULY 17 GET-TOGETHER

Oh, brother, Brother (Nick Saban) was quick to respond to my request for Alabama memorabilia to hand out at the July 17 J&J&Lions Get-Together at the Monongah High Town Hall from 6 to 9 p.m. with dinner and music for listening or dancing.

As you can see by the photo there are many items that I will hand out to some of those who attend the event co-hosted by my sister, Jackie Olesky Straight, Class of 1955, who lives in Rivesville, and by me, John Olesky, Class of 1950, who lives in Tallmadge, Ohio.

I had only requested a photo of Nick Saban and wife Terry. Instead, the large box included a miniature Alabama football autographed with “Nick Saban” and “Ms. Terry.” That, I’m keeping for myself permanently but you can look at it and touch it if you come to the event.

Everything else will be distributed during the July 17 fun-filled evening.

I also will be bringing a 24 x 28 inch framed photo the Monongah High Lion and an 8 x 10 foot WVU cloth wall-hanging to be on display in the Town Hall during the 3 hours of nostalgia and reunion. Those will return to my home with me along with the miniature football autographed by Nick Saban and wife Terry Saban, both Monongah High graduates.

So, unless you want to be left out, get your Reservations form in NOW! Time is running out.

I need the Reservations so that I can tell Say-Boy how many mouths to feed and which entrée each person selected.

NO ONE will be admitted who is NOT on the Reservations list! So you can’t just show up and expect to get into the Monongah Town Hall. It just will not be permitted to happen.

You in or will you just sigh when you see photos of how much fun we’re having July 17!

This is NOT the annual Monongah High Alumni banquet but a John Olesky attempt to get family and classmates together during the summer as a break from the COVID restrictions.iHH

The annual Monongah High Alumni Banquet will be on Labor Day weekend at the Knights of Columbus in Fairmont. If you have any questions call Donna Davis at 304-534-5636.

WVU wall-hanging ready for Monongah Town Hall on July 17

Here’s the WVU wall-hanging ready to be displayed in Monongah Town Hall for the J&J&Lions Get-Together at 6-9 p.m. Saturday, July 17.

My sister, Jackie Olesky Straight, Class of 1955, and me, John Olesky, Class of 1950, will be hosting the event for family, friends, Monongah High Alumni and residents of Monongah who are not MHS graduates.

There also will be a large, framed 2 x 3 foot poster of the Monongah Lion on display.

And food provided by Say-Boy.

And decorations in red and black, Monongah High’s colors, by Monongah Councilwoman Susan Staron Sanders, Class of 1971, the Angel of Thomas Street, and Monongah Christmas Lights Committee’s Shelly Yankie, a 2002 North Marion grad.

And music for listening or dancing.

If you want to be part of it you have TEN DAYS to get your Reservation to John Olesky.

Print the Reservation form in the article below this one, enlarge it to 8 x 10, fill it out and mail it in.
