Appropriately, the first name on the list (for January 6th)
is Jeanette Barr Baczuk, Class of 1940, who still is feisty even though she’s
been out of Monongah High for almost 76 years! Jeanette lives in Ashland, Ohio. Her late sister is Suzanne Barr Loss.
And there’s Arlene Marteney Decker Edgell, Class of 1951, wife
of Okla Edgell, Class of 1944.
And Joe Martin, Class of
1975, enjoying life on Treasure Island, Florida with another Arlene, Arlene
Kitchin Martin, a Canadian native.
And Marcia Michalski
Westfall, Class of 1974, whose two main claims to fame are tooling around the
country on a Harley Electra Glide with husband Dave Westfall and having Ramona
Fullen Michalski, Class of 1949, the Monongah High Alumni blog’s “Monongah
Bureau Chief,” and the late Frank Michalski, who began with the same class and
played football for the Lions, as her parents.
And Joann Davis Thompson,
Class of 1962, married to Don Thompson. Joann's sister is Marlene Davis
Christopher, also Class of 1962.
And the party girl champion
among Monongah High alumni, Mary “Kitty” Ahouse Morrison, Class of 1968, who
lives in Monongah but rarely stays there for long with all her traveling.
And last, but certainly not
the least, Monongah Mayor Greg Vandetta, Class of 1975, who lives on the street
where I first grew up, Thomas Street, with wife Debbie Manzo Vandetta, Class of
1973.
