Parma Kay Fetty, Class of 1973, heads the June list of Monongah
High Alumni birthdays. Parma is an accountant for PKS Taxes. Her birthday is
Monday, June 1.
Parma and Mike Hess, Class of 1975, are a couple. There’s
something fish about their relationship, as you can see by the photo of Parma
in the montage above. Mike was a welder fabricator for Industrial Resources.
Jim Birdsell, a North Marion grad from Monongah and married to
Angela, will put another notch in his age gun on Wednesday, June 3. Kenneth
Kincaid, Class of 1968, who lives in Shinnston, will hit another year Sunday,
June 7.
Junior Koloskie, Class of 1944, is among the few Monongah High
alumni older than me who are still alive. His birth name is John Koloskie, Jr.
but everyone knows him as Junior. His son is Jerry Koloskie, who went from the
athletic department at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas to the one at Albany
(New York) University. His birthday is Monday, June 8.
Mary Toothman Fleming, Class of 1960, was a drum majorette and
Student Council president at Monongah High. She lives in Venice, Florida with
husband Daniel Toothman. Her birthday is June 10.
Dennis Jones, Class of 1954, played a crucial role in Monongah
High winning its first of five state football titles, in 1952, then was with
the WVU football team for three years. The retired general lives in Brentwood,
Tennessee. His birthday is June 17.
You can congratulate most of them by going to their Facebook
pages. Since they are Lions, it’s true to call them The Pride of Monongah High
. . . for June, at least.
